ePack #27

Dear Families:

It's been a busy week at Community School with our fifth and fourth grade students taking the MCAS!  The test is designed a little bit differently this year and has been spread out across three days.  Our third grade students will be taking MCAS next week.  Again, you can find the entire schedule here.

Professional Development Day:  Please remember that there is no school on Tuesday, April 5th due to Professional Development Day.  Also, don't forget to vote!

PTO Meeting:  Our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, April 6th at 7:00 p.m.  Please join us!

Spring Photos:  Please remember that Spring Photos by Lifetouch will take place on Thursday, April 7th.  You should have received an order form this week.

Report Cards:  Trimester 2 Report Cards will be distributed for students in grades one through five on Monday, April 11th.

Conferences:  Conference sign up forms were due back to school on Monday, March 28th. It is very important for parents to discuss their child's progress with their classroom teacher. Please make sure to schedule a conference with your child's teacher.  Parent-teacher conferences take place Thursday, April 14th - Friday, April 15th.  We will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. on both days.

Postings:  There are MANY postings this week in the ePack.  There are a few Park and Recreation flyers to check out.  You can click here to go directly to the March 31st postings.

Have a great weekend and Happy April!

Mr. Gaudette

ePack #26

Dear Families:

It is hard to believe that next week is the final week of March!  We have a busy stretch coming up with our third, fourth, and fifth grade students taking the MCAS.  I have posted the schedule again here.  I hope everyone enjoys their long upcoming weekend.  If you celebrate Easter - Happy Easter!

No School:  Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, Friday, March 25th due to Good Friday.

New Water Bubbler:  I know this does not sound like a big deal, but we only had one operational water bubbler on the main level.  Our new bubbler near the gym is filtered and has a water bottle filling area.  It should come in handy with the warm weather approaching.

Buddy the Beaver:  Our School Nurse, Mrs. Burke, arranged for "Buddy the Beaver" to visit our grade one classes today to discuss dental hygiene.  Please ask your first grader about it! Please check out the photos below courtesy of Mrs. O'Brien and Mrs. Valeri.

Postings:  Although all of our postings are important, please pay special attention to the postings on Square 1 Art and the speaker on April 5th.

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Gaudette

ePack #25

Dear Families:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  It was great to see the staff and students wearing green today! We enjoyed another nice day for outdoor recess, but I am hearing about a possible snowstorm for Monday.  We will have to keep an eye on this for next week!

Cartographer:  Mapmaker Jason Newton has been working with the N.A. schools for some time and he visited our grade four classrooms yesterday.  He will be working with our third grade students in early April.

Postings:  Just three postings in this week's ePack.  Check them out!

Shoes:  Don't forget - if you have used shoes to donate, please send them to school in a bag.  We have a bin for donations.

Conference Forms:  These should have made their way home today.  Please send your form back as soon as possible.  Trimester 2 report cards will sent home on Monday, April 11th.

No School:  Please remember that there is no school on Friday, March 25th due to Good Friday.

Nominations:  The Special Needs Advisory Council Heroes Recognition program has been established to honor members of our community for their outstanding service and commitment to children with special needs in North Attleboro.  Please see the posting in today's ePack for more information and how to nominate a Special Educator.

That's all for now.  Enjoy your weekend!

Mr. Gaudette

ePack #23

Dear Families:

Wow, we had a very busy week at Community School!  In addition to Read Across America Week, we had Dig for Dinosaurs from the Museum of Science for our kindergarten students and a Lego enrichment program for Mrs. O'Brien's and Mrs. Valeri's grade one class.  Our Grade 5 students did a fantastic job on their Wax Museum presentations.  I learned a great deal about some famous people!

Friday, March 4th: Grab your Hat and Read with the Cat!  Children and staff are invited to wear a crazy or fun hat to school tomorrow!

PTO Meeting:  Our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, March 9th at 7:00 p.m.  Hope to see you!

School Council:  Our next School Council meeting is Thursday, March 10th at 3:15 p.m.

National Parks:  Grade 4 will be giving their National Park presentations on Friday, March 11th at 1:00 p.m.

Don't Forget:  The North Attleboro School District is in the process of updating our Strategic Plan and we need your input. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GMTT2BS so that we can continue this process. Your thoughts and ideas are extremely important to us and will help guide future focus areas for educating our children. We will be keeping the survey open through March 18, 2016.

Please don't forget to go back to the ePack to check out all of the postings we have today!

Have a nice weekend!

Mr. Gaudette
