Dear Families:
February Vacation is here! I hope everyone enjoys the break. It is hard to believe March begins just a few days after we get back. Classes resume on Monday, February 27th. Here is this week's update:
Pokemon Cards: I am sorry to report that due to numerous arguments, Pokemon Cards are banned effective immediately. These cards are not allowed back on school grounds. Please inform your child.
Postings: There are many postings this week. Please be sure to check out the ePack carefully!
Author Skype: Ms. Bolton scheduled a Skype with author Julie Phillipps who wrote, Wink: The Ninja Who Wanted to Stand Out. Our first and second grade students were a part of this. Please ask your child about this Skype visit.
That's all for this week. Again, enjoy February Vacation and we'll see you back at Community School on Monday, February 27th.

ePack #20
Dear Families:
I hope your children enjoyed the last two school days off and had some fun in the snow! It looks like more is on the way on for Monday, so please stay tuned to your local news. Here is this week's update:
Last Wednesday: Ms. Bolton, Community School librarian, arranged for a Skype visit with author Tom Angleberger. Our grade four and grade five students were able to meet and ask questions of Mr. Angleberger. Thanks to Ms. Bolton for arranging this Skype visit in the library.
Valentine's Day: Valentine's Day is Tuesday, February 14th. Please remember that food/candy should not accompany any type of Valentine's cards your child may bring to school. Thanks for your cooperation.
School Council: The School Council will meet on Wednesday, February 15th at 3:15 p.m.
MCAS: Please note the MCAS Schedule for this spring in this week's ePack. This is subject to change.
February Break: Vacation will take place February 20-24th.
Arrival/Dismissal: Given the amount of snow from the last storm, we will need extra cooperation from parents when dropping off and picking up children. Barrows St. is obviously even more narrow than usual. STUDENT SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY!
Have a great weekend!

ePack #19
Dear Families:
Happy Groundhog Day! It's my understanding that the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter this morning. We'll see if his prediction turns out to be true! Here is this week's update:
Grade 4: Our grade four students had a great opportunity this past week to learn about map making from Jason Newton. Hopefully, you saw the maps they created in class.
Friday: Staff and students are invited to wear their Pats' gear to school tomorrow. Good luck to the Patriots in this weekend's Super Bowl!
MCAS Schedule: I am finalizing this spring's MCAS schedule and should be able to share that with you very soon. Thanks for your patience.
Box Tops: Please note that two hard copies went home today regarding Box Tops. If you lose it, there is also one posted in today's ePack. Please fill up your sheet and return it back to school as soon as possible. Thanks to Mrs. Chick for organizing this collection.
Kindergarten Families: Please return your child's yellow report card envelope with your signature as soon as you can. Thanks.
Central Office Update: Mrs. Suzan Cullen officially retired on Tuesday, January 31st. Mr. Scott Holcomb is the new Superintendent of Schools and Mrs. Lori McEwen is the new interim Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
That's all for now. Enjoy your weekend and Go Pats!
