ePack #31

Dear Families:

I believe we are all caught up on make-ups for MCAS!  Mrs. Pizarro and I plan on organizing and packing the tests tomorrow.  The children certainly worked very hard on these assessments!  We have an ePack message this week, but there are no new postings.  

Thank You:  Thank you to Sarah Peri and the MANY volunteers for their efforts on our Mother-Son Movie Night on Friday, May 19th.  I appreciate everyone's flexibility when we had to move indoors.  

Grade 3 Field Trip:  The field trip to Plimoth Plantation is cancelled tomorrow due to the weather.  We will reschedule the trip and let you know the new date as soon as possible.  

No School:  Please remember that there is no school on Monday, May 29th due to Memorial Day.  

Kindergarten Field Trip:  Our kindergarten students will visit Ward's Berry Farm on Thursday, June 1st.  

Final Day for Homework Club:  The final day for the Before School Homework Club is Friday, June 2nd.  

Kindergarten Conferences:  There is no school on Friday, June 2nd for kindergarten students due to parent-teacher conferences.

June 15th:  Kindergarten End of Year Ceremonies
June 20th:  Grade 5 Graduation - Time TBD
June 23rd:  Last Day of School/Trimester 3 Report Cards Issued

ePack #30

Dear Families:

The last two hot days are getting everyone in a summer state of mind!  I hope you were able to find some time to enjoy the warm weather outside lately.  We are wrapping up another busy week at Community School.  Grade 5 completed MCAS for the year this week and Grade 4 will be concluding tomorrow.  Grade 3 finished MCAS next week.  We're almost at the finish line!

Mother-Son Movie Night:  Please don't forget this event takes place right here at Community School (Barrows St. parking lot) tomorrow night, Friday, May 19th.  The movie starts at 8:00 p.m. and families can start arriving at 7:30 p.m.

Grade 5:  Our fifth graders will travel to Mason Field tomorrow morning, Friday, May 19th, to see a Revolutionary War Reenactment.  

PTO Meeting:  Our next PTO meeting is Monday, May 22nd.  I will be showing our revised report card that will go into effect for the 2017-2018 school year.  Hope you can join us!

"Moving On" Picture:  Grade 5 students will have their "Moving On" picture taken on Tuesday, May 23rd at 11:15 a.m.  

Grade 1 Author's Tea:  Our first graders will host an Author's Tea in the auditorium on Wednesday, May 24th at 12:30 p.m.

Grade 3:  Our third graders will visit Plimoth Plantation on Friday, May 26th.  Let's hope for good weather!

No School:  There is no school on Monday, May 29th due to Memorial Day.

Dear Families:

It is a very busy time of year!  This is the point in the school year when we have many events happening in school and out of school.  Please pay special attention to messages coming home via hard copy, Connect-Ed, Remind and Twitter.  Please be aware that there are many postings in this week's ePack.  Please check out the postings here.  

Field Trip:  Please remember that our 2nd graders are taking a field trip to the Southwick Zoo.  Have fun!

PawSox Game:  Please remember that the Community School Night at the PawSox is this Saturday, May 13th.  There are still a few tickets left.  If you are interested, please contact the school. 

Mother-Son Movie Night:  This event is taking place on Friday night, May 19th right here at Community School.  You received a hard copy flyer about this recently.    

MCAS:  Click here for the MCAS schedule for the rest of May.  We're almost finished! 

Scholastic Book Fair:  Thank you very much to all of our volunteers for your efforts in making a successful Book Fair!  

Moving Letter:  Tomorrow, your child will bring home a hard copy letter regarding moving prior to the 2017-2018 school year.  If you plan on moving, please return the letter to school as soon as possible.
