ePack #30

Dear Families:

It has been an eventful week back from April Vacation!  We have rewarded children for participating in the April Break Reading Challenge, hosted a bike safety program and also hosted the Southwick Zoo Zoomobile!  In addition, we had two grade three classrooms visit the Little Red Schoolhouse.  I have a couple photos posted below.  

Mother-Son Movie Night:  I hope this event goes well tonight and everyone has fun! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. at the Cinema Pub.  

3B to Little Red Schoolhouse:  Reminder that Mrs. Buckley's class is visiting the Little Red Schoolhouse on Tuesday, May 3rd.  

3D Tour of the Town:  Reminder that Mrs. Dunphy's class is going on their Tour of the Town on Wednesday, May 4th.  

Walk to School Day:  We will have our second Walk to School Day on Wednesday, May 4th.  We will meet at Bank of America at 7:45 a.m.  Thanks to Nurse Burke for organizing this event!

PTO Meeting:  Our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m.  Hope you join us!

Roger Williams Zoo Field Trip: Our first grade students will be visiting Roger Williams Zoo on Thursday, May 5th.

Dear Families:

Thank you for attending your child's parent-teacher conference today (or tomorrow).  I trust you found these discussions helpful and informative.  I would also like to thank our PTO and the many volunteers who donated their time and talents to provide the staff with a wonderful breakfast, lunch and snacks.  Your efforts are very much appreciated and everything was delicious!

Friday, April 15th:  Please do not forget that tomorrow is an early dismissal day at 11:30 a.m. for Full Day Kindergarten - Grade 5.  No school for our half-day kindergartens.  

April Vacation:  April Vacation begins Monday, April 18th and ends Friday, April 22nd. Students return Monday, April 25th. 

Report Card Envelopes: Please return your child's yellow report card envelope with your signature.  

School Committee Visit:  School Committee member, Carol Wagner, will visit our school on Monday, April 25th at 10:00 a.m.  

New Mobile Lab:  We have new, mobile computer lab with small laptops/tablets for our students to use.  Thank you to the Technology Department for their efforts.  We are looking forward to rolling this lab out!

Spring Reading Challenge:  To kick off our Spring Break Reading Challenge, all students in K-5 received a free book.  Please make sure you check out the posting on the Reading Challenge.  Thanks to Mrs. Brems, Mrs. Houston and Mrs. Boynton for organizing.

ePack #28

Dear Families:

Wow!  Can you believe this rain!?  It looks like the April showers are going to continue for a couple more days.  Our third, fourth and fifth graders have worked hard on the English Language Arts MCAS testing and we are proud of their efforts.  Third grade has their last session tomorrow!  

School Photos:  Photos seemed to go well today.  Please make sure to send back the photos when you receive them whether you are purchasing or not purchasing the pictures. 

Report Cards:  Trimester 2 report cards for grades 1 - 5 will be distributed on Monday, April 11th.  Please return the yellow envelope with your signature.  

Conferences:  Parent - Teacher Conferences are scheduled for next Thursday (April 14th) and Friday (April 15th). Both days are early release days at 11:30 a.m. for FDK - Grade 5. There is no school for half-day kindergarten students on both days.

April Vacation:  Please note that April Vacation is scheduled for Monday, April 18 - Friday, April 22nd.  Enjoy!

Mom and Son Night Out:  Please note the posting in today's ePack.  I believe a hard copy was sent home, as well.  

Keep N.A. Beautiful:  Please note the posting in today's ePack on the "Great American Clean Up".  Please consider volunteering for this annual clean up of North Attleborough!

Free Books:  We will be doing another reading challenge over April vacation similar to the "Marshmallow Reading Challenge" during February vacation.  In order to get the children inspired, we will giving everyone a free book next week! 

Visitors:  Community School had some interesting visitors this week - Mapmaker Jason Newton visited our Grade 3 students and Jeremy Reiner, Chief Meteorologist at WHDH Channel 7 news, visited our Grade 2 students.  The children enjoyed both visits!
